Welcome to the Zululand Inland FPA website.
The Zululand Inland Fire Protection Association is responsible for the co-ordination and management of rural fire activities undertaken within the boundaries of the Nongoma, Ulundi, Nkandla, Mthojaneni, Umlalazi and Ntambanana Municipalities of KwaZulu-Natal.
The ZIFPA was established in 2006 and was formed to allow the participants to enhance effective fire prevention, protection, suppression and other fire control measures within the respective areas at risk from uncontrolled fires for the good of the local community in general.
The ZIFPA is responsible for ensuring facilities and resources are available for the reduction, readiness, response and recovery from any forest or rural veld fire incident.
The area of operation is centred on the towns of Ulundi, Nongoma, Melmoth and Eshowe and is approximately 1,166,890.6 hectares and made up of grassland and forestry.
